Terms of Service
Welcome to Call Pet. Call Pet is a privacy-first, end-to-end encrypted, two-device remote monitoring tool that includes a Monitor device and a Controller device. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Call Pet, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Service Provider and Scope
- Service provider: Chen Zhiguo (indie developer).

- Address: Shell Haiyan Apartment, Huamao City Phase II, Shui'an South Street, Chaoyang District, Beijing, China.
- Scope: the Call Pet mobile app (including Monitor and Controller roles) and related features.
2. Service Description and Current Form
Call Pet uses QR-code pairing to establish an end-to-end encrypted audio/video link between two devices. The current version:
- Does not provide accounts, does not include ads, and does not offer subscriptions or paid features.
- Transmits audio/video peer-to-peer by default; servers are used only for signaling relay.
- Offers optional local recording that is initiated by you and stored on your device.
We may adjust features or policies for operational or technical reasons and will notify you as described in Section 12.
3. Eligibility and Compliance
- You must have lawful authority to use the devices and environments involved.
- You must not use the service for any illegal purpose, including unauthorized surveillance, recording, or privacy infringement.
- If you are under 13 years old or are a minor under local law, use the service only with parental consent and guidance.
- You must comply with applicable laws and these Terms.
4. Pairing Codes and Device Security
- Pairing codes/QR codes act as authorization credentials. Anyone with the pairing code may become a Controller.
- You are responsible for keeping pairing codes and devices secure and preventing leakage or unauthorized scanning.
- If you suspect a leak, regenerate the Monitor QR code to invalidate previous pairings.
- Rooted/jailbroken or compromised devices may allow unauthorized access. You bear the resulting risks.
5. Recording and Content Responsibility
- Recording is optional and only takes effect when you enable it. Recordings are stored locally on your device.
- You are solely responsible for the legality and authorization of recorded content.
- We do not store, view, or analyze your recordings and assume no rights or liability for them.
6. Network and Third-Party Services
- The service depends on network connectivity and system permissions, and performance may vary by network conditions.
- Third-party STUN/ICE services may be used for NAT traversal and connectivity.
- Data usage charges may apply according to your carrier or network provider.
7. Use Restrictions
- You must not reverse engineer, decompile, crack, or bypass security mechanisms.
- You must not interfere with service operation, bypass access controls, or abuse the service at scale.
- You must not use the service in ways that harm others' rights or the public interest.
8. Availability and Suspension
- We strive to maintain service reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-available service.
- We are not liable for interruptions caused by maintenance, upgrades, network failures, system limitations, or force majeure.
- If you violate these Terms or applicable law, we may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access.
9. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
- The service is provided "as is." Except as required by law, we make no warranties of any kind.
- We are not liable for indirect damages, loss of profits, data loss, or device damage.
- To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to your direct and reasonable losses arising from use of the service.
10. Intellectual Property
Call Pet and all related trademarks, logos, software, interfaces, and content are owned by the service provider or licensed to the service provider. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use it for commercial purposes without permission.
11. Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we process data and your rights: https://www.callpet.me/privacy. The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
12. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms for new features, legal requirements, or operational needs. For material changes, we will provide notice via in-app prompts or website announcements. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the service shall be submitted to the people's courts with jurisdiction in Beijing.
