Call Pet Support Center
1. About Call Pet
Give your idle phone a second life. Call Pet is a professional pet monitoring tool that prioritizes extreme privacy and simplicity. By utilizing WebRTC technology, you can transform an idle smartphone (Monitor) into a high-quality pet camera and call it anytime from your primary phone (Controller).
2. Three-Step Quick Start Guide
- Assign Roles: Open Call Pet on two devices. Select "Monitor" on the idle phone at home and "Controller" on your primary phone.
- Privacy Pairing: Use the Controller to scan the QR code generated by the Monitor. This establishes a secure, end-to-end encrypted bond without the need for an account or password.
- Start Monitoring: Tap the "Call" button on the Controller. The Monitor will automatically and silently answer the video call.
3. Key Features
- Auto-Answer: The Monitor answers calls from the bound Controller instantly without any manual intervention.
- Push-to-Talk (PTT): Hold the "Microphone" icon during a call to speak to your pet, and release it to mute.
- Remote Hardware Control: Remotely switch between front/rear cameras or turn on the flashlight to see better in the dark.
- Power-Saving Mode: While in standby or during a call, the Monitor supports a "Dark Screen" mode to reduce power consumption and prevent screen burn-in.
- Real-time Connection Quality: Monitor your connection status (latency, bandwidth, packet loss) directly on the call interface.
4. Privacy & Security (Our Core Principles)
We adhere to the Zero-Knowledge principle to ensure your home remains private:
- End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): All control signals are encrypted using X25519 + AES-GCM. Our servers only relay encrypted data and cannot decrypt your commands.
- P2P Direct Connection: Video and audio streams are transmitted directly between your devices via WebRTC. Media streams are secured with DTLS/SRTP encryption and never stored on any cloud server.
5. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Why does it say "Calling..." but fails to connect?
A: Ensure both devices have internet access. Call Pet will automatically attempt to reconnect up to 3 times. Please check if the Monitor's battery optimization settings are interfering with the app's background activity.
Q: Is my privacy secure?
A: Yes. Media streams are transmitted directly between your devices via P2P and secured with DTLS/SRTP encryption. They are never stored on any cloud server.
Q: Will the Monitor drain battery or cause screen burn-in?
A: We provide a Dark Screen mode during standby or calls to reduce power usage and help prevent burn-in.
Q: Why does the connection occasionally fail?
A: The call interface shows real-time network quality. If fluctuations cause a drop, the app will retry up to 3 times. Please ensure both devices have stable internet access.
Q: Can I remotely switch cameras?
A: Yes. On the call page, you can remotely switch front/rear cameras or turn on the flashlight.
Q: Why can I hear audio but not see video?
A: This is usually caused by limited network bandwidth for video. Call Pet optimizes media delivery (Recovery Transceiver), but switching to a more stable Wi-Fi network is recommended.
Q: Can I use it on different Wi-Fi networks?
A: Yes. Call Pet supports P2P traversal (STUN), allowing you to call your home Monitor using 4G/5G or a different Wi-Fi network.
Q: How do I re-pair my devices?
A: Tap "Re-pair" on the top-left corner of the Controller's call page to scan a new QR code.
