Media uses encrypted WebRTC transport. Call Pet prefers a direct device path when available and may use TURN relay for encrypted media packets on restricted networks. WebRTC DTLS/SRTP protects audio and video, TURN does not hold media decryption keys, and X25519 + AES-256-GCM protects control and signaling. Call Pet does not provide cloud video storage.

Install Call Pet on two phones
Use a compatible iPhone, iPad or Android device running the full app as the Controller, plus a compatible Monitor device kept at the shop. The full Android app supports Controller and Monitor roles. The earlier app still works only as a camera.

Mount the spare phone covering the counter or door
Use a visible wall mount, shelf, or phone stand in an authorized area. Follow local notice and consent rules for staff and customers, plug in the Monitor, and keep Call Pet in the foreground standby page.

Check the shop remotely
Open the Controller for live encrypted video when both networks permit a usable WebRTC connection. Use two-way audio only in accordance with local notice and consent rules.

Can I record video for evidence if there's a break-in? +
Call Pet does not provide cloud recording or certified automatic evidence capture. Pro users can manually record on the Controller, and that file stays only on the Controller device. For certified evidentiary recording, use a system designed for that purpose and follow local notice and retention rules. Apple 1.7.0 also adds optional 24/7 recording and playback stored locally on the Monitor. Recording options depend on the installed version, device and plan.
Does it work in low light when the shop is closed? +
Phone cameras need some ambient light. Leave a low-power LED on at night, or position the phone near a window with streetlight.
Can multiple staff members watch the same shop camera? +
Each pairing is one Controller to one Monitor. For shared viewing, staff can take turns pairing with the same Monitor.
Is this enough security for a shop with cash or inventory? +
Call Pet is a remote live-view tool, not an alarm, deterrent, or continuous evidence system. Choose locks, alarms, and recording equipment according to the shop's risk and legal requirements.
Can the Monitor keep working while the phone is locked? +
No. Keep Call Pet in the foreground on the Monitor standby page. The display can be darkened or set to low brightness, but locking the device or moving the app to the background is not supported.
