Terms of Service

Welcome to Call Pet. Call Pet is a privacy-first, end-to-end encrypted, two-device remote monitoring tool that includes a Monitor device and a Controller device. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Call Pet, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Service Provider and Scope

• Service provider: Chen Zhiguo (indie developer).
• Email: support@callpet.me; developer contact: apple.abec@gmail.com.
• Address: Shell Haiyan Apartment, Huamao City Phase II, Shui'an South Street, Chaoyang District, Beijing, China.
• Scope: the Call Pet mobile app (including Monitor and Controller roles) and related features.

2. Service Description and Current Form

Call Pet uses QR-code pairing to establish an end-to-end encrypted audio/video link between two devices. The current version:

• Does not require account registration.
• Offers a free trial period and free basic functionality, plus task-based ways to earn membership benefits.
• Provides optional Call Pet Pro monthly, yearly, and lifetime plans to unlock premium features including call recording, HD video (1080p), flashlight control, unlimited call duration, and multi-controller support.
• Displays rewarded video ads only when you voluntarily choose to watch them as part of an in-app task.
• Transmits audio/video through encrypted WebRTC; a direct device path is preferred when available, and restricted networks may use TURN relay services for encrypted media packets.
• Offers optional local recording that is initiated by you and stored on your device.

We may adjust features or policies for operational or technical reasons and will notify you as described in Section 13.

3. Eligibility and Compliance

• You must have lawful authority to use the devices and environments involved.
• You must not use the service for any illegal purpose, including unauthorized surveillance, recording, or privacy infringement.
• If you are under 13 years old or are a minor under local law, use the service only with parental consent and guidance.
• You must comply with applicable laws and these Terms.

4. Pairing Codes and Device Security

• Pairing codes/QR codes act as authorization credentials. Anyone with the pairing code may become a Controller.
• You are responsible for keeping pairing codes and devices secure and preventing leakage or unauthorized scanning.
• If you suspect a leak, regenerate the Monitor QR code to invalidate previous pairings.
• Rooted/jailbroken or compromised devices may allow unauthorized access. You bear the resulting risks.

5. Recording and Content Responsibility

• Recording is optional and only takes effect when you enable it. Recordings are stored locally on your device.
• You are solely responsible for the legality and authorization of recorded content.
• We do not store, view, or analyze your recordings and assume no rights or liability for them.

6. Network and Third-Party Services

• The service depends on network connectivity and system permissions, and performance may vary by network conditions.
• Third-party STUN and TURN services may be used for NAT traversal and relay of encrypted media packets when direct connectivity is blocked. STUN does not carry audio or video; TURN relays do not hold media decryption keys.
• Data usage charges may apply according to your carrier or network provider.

7. Free Trial, Tasks, and Advertisements

• Introductory access and subscription trials depend on the installed version, channel, offer and account eligibility. Any trial duration, renewal price and cancellation terms are shown in the app and store purchase sheet; not every user or plan is eligible.
• You may earn or extend membership benefits by completing in-app tasks. Some tasks may involve voluntarily watching rewarded video ads.
• Ads are provided by Google AdMob. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.
• After introductory or earned Pro access expires, basic features remain available. Pro features require an active paid or granted entitlement. The Android APK does not offer new subscription purchases; eligible tasks and sharing rewards remain available according to their stated terms.
• App-granted access and store subscription trials are separate. Store trials are governed by the store offer and subscription terms; changing device time does not extend a store entitlement.

8. Purchases, Subscriptions, and Billing

Available plans, billing periods, and reference prices are described on our Pricing page. The final price, currency, applicable taxes, and payment methods are shown before you confirm a purchase and may vary by country or region.

Apple App Store purchases

• On supported Apple platforms, Call Pet Pro is available as monthly, yearly, or lifetime (one-time) purchases through Apple's App Store.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon purchase confirmation.
• Monthly and yearly subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. After cancellation, you retain Pro access until the end of the current billing period, then revert to basic features.
• Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policies. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support. We do not process refunds directly.
• If you purchased the app before January 2026 (when it transitioned from a paid app to a free-to-download model), you are automatically granted lifetime Pro access at no additional cost.

Google Play purchases

• The Google Play version supports monthly and yearly subscriptions and a lifetime one-time purchase through Google Play Billing. Availability, regional prices and trial eligibility are shown in the app and Google Play purchase sheet.
• Payment is charged through the Google Account used for the purchase. Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew until canceled under the terms shown at purchase. A lifetime purchase does not renew.
• Manage or cancel through Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, using the purchasing account. Uninstalling Call Pet does not cancel a subscription. See Google Play subscription help.
• Use Restore Purchase in the Google Play version with the purchasing account. A store purchase does not by itself guarantee an automatic entitlement transfer between Apple, Google Play and the Android APK.
• Refund eligibility follows Google Play’s policies and applicable law. The Refund Policy explains where to request help.

Mainland China Android APK and earlier camera-only app

• The Android APK supports Controller and Monitor roles and basic monitoring. It does not offer new subscription purchases. Available in-app tasks and sharing rewards may provide Pro access; it is not a permanently unlocked edition.
• The earlier app only provides camera functionality. It has a different package ID from the full app. If you install the full app on the same device, scan the pairing QR code again.

Purchases already completed through Paddle

If your receipt identifies Paddle as the payment provider, use that receipt or paddle.net to manage the purchase or request support. This applies only to a completed Paddle transaction; it does not mean Paddle checkout is available in the current Android APK or Google Play app. See our Refund Policy.

9. Use Restrictions

• You must not reverse engineer, decompile, crack, or bypass security mechanisms.
• You must not interfere with service operation, bypass access controls, or abuse the service at scale.
• You must not use the service in ways that harm others' rights or the public interest.

10. Availability and Suspension

• We strive to maintain service reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-available service.
• We are not liable for interruptions caused by maintenance, upgrades, network failures, system limitations, or force majeure.
• If you violate these Terms or applicable law, we may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access.

11. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

• To the extent permitted by applicable law in your jurisdiction, the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of profits, data loss, or device damage.
• To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability is limited to your direct and reasonable losses arising from use of the service.
• Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or gross negligence.

12. Intellectual Property

Call Pet and all related trademarks, logos, software, interfaces, and content are owned by the service provider or licensed to the service provider. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use it for commercial purposes without permission.

13. Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process data and your rights: https://www.callpet.me/privacy/. The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms for new features, legal requirements, or operational needs. For material changes, we will provide notice via in-app prompts or website announcements. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the service shall be submitted to the people's courts with jurisdiction in Beijing.

This choice of law does not deprive you of the protection afforded by provisions that cannot be derogated from by agreement under the consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
