Free pet monitoring with Call Pet

Use basic live monitoring to see what your pet is doing through the camera on a compatible home device. Pair the two devices with a QR code, without creating a Call Pet account. Pro is optional for this basic viewing setup.

“Free to download” and “free monitoring” are different promises. Call Pet provides free basic live monitoring; this does not mean every feature is free. Review the current in-app plan details before choosing premium features.

Yes, if you have a compatible device to leave at home and another device running the full app to view it. The Controller can be an iPhone, iPad or Android device. Position the home camera where your dog rests, connect both devices to the internet, and test the live view before leaving. The same setup works for cats.

The home Monitor must stay powered, unlocked, and running Call Pet in the foreground. Its dark standby display is not the same as locking the device. Call Pet does not currently send automated bark alerts.

Prepare to watch your dog while at work

Use a compatible iPhone, iPad or Android device for either role. Apple devices require iOS/iPadOS 15 or later; the full Android app requires Android 7.0 or later. Install the full app on the device you take with you, select Controller, and scan the home Monitor’s QR code. The earlier camera-only app is still available for existing users.

You do not need to buy a dedicated pet camera if your spare device is suitable. A stand, a safe power connection, and enough room lighting still matter. An ordinary phone camera does not add infrared night vision or a treat dispenser.

Two-way video requires Pro on the Controller, so the home device can display your video during a supported call. Pro users can also manage up to five Monitor devices. Feature availability depends on the installed build, device, and plan.

For a quick live check-in, start with basic monitoring. If you want your pet to see you on screen or need several home Monitors, review the Pro options in the app.

Call Pet suits owners who want live check-ins using spare devices and no Call Pet cloud video storage. It is not a fit if your essential requirement is automated bark detection, treat tossing, or continuous cloud recording.
