Why most options fall short

Separation anxiety is real and most owners can't see it

Hours of howling, scratching at the door, eating furniture — by the time you get home, the evidence is everywhere but the moment is gone.

Hardware dog cams are pricey and need a subscription

Dedicated dog cameras require separate hardware, and recording or cloud features may depend on the current product and plan.

Two-way audio matters when you want to respond

Live video lets you see what is happening; two-way audio also lets you speak through the Monitor device.

Why Call Pet works for dog camera app

01

Two-way audio

Hear barking, whining or scratching the moment it happens. Press to talk and your voice plays through the spare phone speaker.

02

Free basic monitoring — no dedicated camera required

Spare phone + Call Pet = a private dog cam with no new hardware purchase. Pro features are optional.

03

Direct, encrypted media between paired devices

Media connects directly over WebRTC P2P with no TURN or media relay. WebRTC DTLS/SRTP protects audio and video; X25519 + AES-256-GCM protects control and signaling. Call Pet servers do not receive the media.

04

Auto-answer for remote check-ins

The Monitor phone picks up automatically. Your dog doesn't have to do anything.

05

No Call Pet account, email, or phone number

Pair with a QR code. Done.

Set up in 5 steps

About 30 seconds. No account needed at any step.

  1. 1

Install Call Pet on both phones

Use an iPhone or iPad running iOS/iPadOS 13 or later as the Controller. The Monitor can be a compatible Apple device or Android device; Android supports Monitor mode only.

  2. 2

    Spare device: Monitor mode

The Monitor displays a QR code.

  3. 3

Main device: Controller mode + scan

Use the Controller to scan the QR code shown by the Monitor.

  4. 4

Place spare phone where your dog stays

Living room, kitchen, dog bed area. Plug into a charger. Make sure the speaker faces the room so your voice carries.

  5. 5

    Watch and talk remotely

Keep the Monitor in Call Pet's foreground standby page. Open the Controller to view and use two-way audio; the networks must permit direct WebRTC P2P.

Frequently asked

My dog barks at speaker sounds. Will my voice scare them? +

Start at low volume. Many dogs eventually recognize their owner's voice and find it comforting. If your dog stays scared, leave the audio for emergencies only and use the camera as a viewer.

Can I record what my dog does while I'm away? +

Call Pet does not provide cloud recording or cloud playback. Pro users can start a recording manually on the Controller; the file stays on that Controller device and is not stored by Call Pet servers.

Will the spare phone overheat if it runs all day? +

Long camera and network use can warm a phone. Keep Call Pet in the foreground standby page, lower display brightness if needed, avoid direct sunlight, and stop using it if the device shows a temperature warning.

Does it work for puppies in a crate? +

Yes — point the spare phone at the crate from a tripod or shelf 1–2 meters away.
