Why most options fall short

You leave for a week and worry about pets, packages, or leaks

Did the cat sitter come? Did the package get stolen from the porch? Is the kitchen leaking? Without a camera, you find out only when you get home.

Cloud cameras + travel = your home video on someone else's server while you're away

If a hardware camera vendor has a security incident while you're abroad, your house's interior — empty and visibly unoccupied — becomes a target.

Hardware cameras with subscriptions feel wasteful for occasional travel

Buying a $200 camera + paying $5/month, just for the few trips a year you take, is bad math.

Why Call Pet works for home camera while traveling

01

Set up before the trip, take it down when you're home

No commitment. Use it when you travel; ignore it when you're home. The spare phone goes back in the drawer.

02

End-to-end encrypted — no server has your empty home on file

WebRTC peer-to-peer with X25519 + AES-GCM. Your house being empty isn't on any server.

03

Works across countries — only needs internet on both ends

Use it on hotel WiFi or roaming data overseas. The Monitor phone at home can use home WiFi or 4G/5G cellular data — it just needs internet access.

04

Two-way audio — talk through if you see something

Spot a delivery person? Talk to them. See the cat sitter? Greet them. Hear an unusual noise? Voice-warn.

05

Free, no account — set up minutes before leaving

Download, scan, leave. No signup forms, no payment, no waiting.

Frequently asked

Will it work with international roaming or foreign WiFi? +

Yes. As long as your travel phone has internet (any kind, anywhere), you can connect to the Monitor at home.

How much data does it use while I'm watching? +

Live video runs roughly 100–300 MB/hour depending on resolution. Short check-ins of a few minutes use little data. If the Monitor side uses home WiFi there is no cellular data cost; if it uses a SIM card, it will use cellular data too.

What if my home network goes down during the trip? +

Call Pet will reconnect automatically once the network is back. If the Monitor phone also has cellular data, it can use that connection when WiFi is unavailable.

Can the spare phone last the whole trip on battery if there's a power cut? +

Battery alone lasts a few hours. For multi-day trips, plug it into a UPS-backed outlet if you have one, or accept that brief outages will pause monitoring until power returns.

Can I see who delivered or left packages at my door while I was out? +

Live only — Call Pet doesn't record. You'll only see what happens while you're actively watching. For after-the-fact review, a doorbell camera that records locally is a better fit.
